Lessons from the case study on NYT app redesign.

After reading through the article titled 'Redesigning the New York Times app — a UX case study', here are a few things I learnt:

  1. Research is very important in creating a user-centered design. Interviewing a group of people from the target audience helps one see things from the point of a user, understand their pain points and cater for their needs.

  2. Importance of testing; the feedback gotten from users at the lo-fi stage helped the designers retrace their steps and make a decision that best suit the users.

  3. Inclusion should always be noted when designing an app. The app redesign catered for those who work 9-5, college students, entrepreneurs and the likes that fit into the age bracket.
